De in 1950 ontworpen hanglamp benadrukt de innovatieve, experimentele aanpak van ontwerper. In die tijd was glas het favoriete materiaal van de verlichtingsindustrie. Maar toen de ontwerper in 1949-50 de eerste monsters van methacrylaat ontving, een nieuwe polymeerkunststof die veel sterker en lichter was dan glas, leidden zijn experimenten hem naar een nieuwe hanglamp, model 2065. Zoals bij zoveel van zijn ontwerpen ging hij verder om de komende jaren met verschillende composities, afmetingen en kleurvarianten te werken.
Model 2065 bestaat uit een diffuser gemaakt van twee samengevoegde opalen schoteltjes, opgehangen aan het plafond met een zwart geverfde aluminium kap. De eenvoud van het elliptische design en de lichtheid van de materialen zorgen voor een schijnbaar gewichtloze armatuur.
