Die Akari-Leuchten sind handgefertigt aus durchscheinendem Washi-Papier, das aus der inneren Rinde des Maulbeerbaums hergestellt wird. Der Designer hat das Licht von Akari mit Sonnenlicht verglichen, das durch traditionelle Papiertüren gefiltert wird – die Lichtskulpturen erzeugen ein warmes Licht und eine angenehme Atmosphäre.
