Deze schelpen worden met de hand gemaakt door ambachtslieden in Capiz, Filipijnen, waar de schelpen worden geoogst van lokale oesters. In een volledig met de hand afgewerkt proces wordt elke schaal gereinigd, gesneden, geverfd, ingelijst met fijne koperen banden, vastgebonden en vastgezet aan een met messing bekleed frame. Een lichtend voorbeeld van vakmanschap.
