KUU, wat maan betekent in het Fins, is ontworpen om direct en indirect licht te geven door simpelweg de binnenste cirkel van de hanger te draaien. De draaihoek is onbeperkt door een draadloze verbinding van elektriciteit tussen de onderdelen.
De KUU hanglamp is geïnspireerd op sfeervolle verlichting. Ze wilde een lamp creëren die verstelbaar is van directe naar indirecte verlichting, afhankelijk van de veelzijdige behoeften die we hebben aan licht op verschillende tijdstippen van de dag. Door de beweeglijkheid van de lamp ontstaat er een voortdurend veranderende figuur die halve manen en ronde vormen van verschillende grootte vormt, die ons herinneren aan de vorm van de maan tijdens verschillende perioden.
