KUU – wat maan betekent in het Fins – is ontworpen om direct en indirect licht te geven door simpelweg de binnenste cirkel van de hanglamp te draaien. De rotatiehoek is onbeperkt dankzij een draadloze elektrische verbinding tussen de onderdelen.
De ontwerper wilde een lamp creëren die verstelbaar is van direct naar indirect licht, afhankelijk van onze veelzijdige lichtbehoefte op verschillende tijdstippen van de dag. De beweegbaarheid van de lamp zorgt voor een constant veranderende vorm die sikkels en ronde vormen van verschillende groottes vormt, die doen denken aan de vorm van de maan in verschillende periodes.
