Het ambacht van de glasmaker, waarbij gebruik wordt gemaakt van een optische mal om de gewenste interieurtexturen en ontwerpen te creëren, werd uitgevonden door Romeinse glasbewerkers en bloeide in Venetië in de Middeleeuwen. Met behulp van deze eeuwenoude optische techniek plaatsen we een glazen bol in een mondgeblazen ronde diffuser. Deze diffusor is aan de buitenkant volkomen helder met een golvend horizontaal patroon in de naar de lamp gerichte zijde. Deze interieurlijnen staan in de optische traditie en worden gewaardeerd in erfgoedstukken zoals Depressieglas.
