De balletlampen zijn geïnspireerd op de rok van balletdansers, die vanaf de taille in een prachtige boog naar beneden hangt. De paraboolvormige boog die ontstaat wanneer een blad horizontaal aan één kant wordt gehouden en aan de andere kant vrij naar beneden hangt. De zwaartekracht en de stijfheid van het materiaal vormen het blad. Zo ontstaat er door de natuur zelf een boog. De boog inspireerde om de bladeren in een cirkel te plaatsen, wat de paraboolvorm creëerde.
