De Verpan Fun 8DM Shell Kroonluchterlamp werd in 1964 door Verner Panton ontworpen als onderdeel van zijn FUN-collectie, die wordt beschouwd als een van Panton's grootste meesterwerken. Het voortreffelijke ontwerp is geïnspireerd op een reis naar Maleisië, waar Panton de schoonheid en dynamische aard van het zeeschelpmateriaal ontdekte. De manier waarop de schelpenschijven subtiel aan kleine metalen kettingen zijn geregen, zorgt ervoor dat de strengen van de schijven in de lucht kunnen zwaaien. Deze beweging is een iconisch kenmerk van deze hangende plafondlampen, die een rinkelend geluid creëren als de lucht door de schaduw beweegt.
