KUU, che in finlandese significa luna, è progettata per fornire luce diretta e indiretta semplicemente ruotando il cerchio interno della lampada. L'angolo di rotazione è illimitato grazie al collegamento elettrico senza fili tra le parti.
Il designer voleva creare una lampada che permettesse di passare da un'illuminazione diretta a una indiretta, in base alle diverse esigenze di luce durante i diversi momenti della giornata. La mobilità della lampada le conferisce una forma in continua evoluzione, che forma mezzelune di diverse dimensioni e forme rotonde, ricordandoci la forma della luna nei vari periodi.
