Visivamente, la High Line è una scultura luminosa, una linea slanciata che emette luce senza rivelarne la fonte. La lampada da terra genera luce indirettamente per riflessione e, cosa unica, la luce non rimbalza sul soffitto, ma sulla parete. Il suo progettista era interessato a far sì che la parete riflettesse la luce emessa. La parete è il miglior alleato di questa lampada e vuole che rimanga vicina.
Formalmente, è una composizione di volumi e colori. Tre blocchi che si distinguono per forme e tonalità: l'elemento verticale portante la luce in rovere o wengé è fissato a un blocco di legno laccato. Entrambi si elevano sopra la base nera, che definisce la distanza ottimale a cui posizionare la lampada dalla parete per generare una fonte di luce ideale. L'austerità delle sue forme contrasta con il calore del legno e la profondità dei suoi colori.
