Wie eine Partitur, in der jede Note gleichmäßig und zusammenhängend gespielt wird, stellt das Legato-Beleuchtungssystem die Notenzeile dar, in der Noten in Form von Kegeln so angeordnet sind, dass sie verschiedene Melodien bilden. Jede Lampe ist auf einer starren mehrstöckigen Eisenstruktur verankert, wobei jede Ebene ein einzelnes Modul ist, das verschiedene Kombinationen ermöglicht. Die doppelte Ausrichtung der Lichtquellen erzeugt ein Spiel aus Reflexionen und Schatten zwischen den Kegeln und betont die Volumina.
