Die Dexter-Schreibtischlampe stellt das Design auf den Kopf. „Wir haben das Glas vom Schirm genommen und es auf den Sockel gesetzt, der bei unserer Lampe aus gegossenem Kristall besteht“, „und wir haben unseren Schirm aus Metall gefertigt, das die Undurchsichtigkeit beibehält, ohne ihm die Farbe zu stehlen.“ Während beide Schirme flache Seiten und konvexe Oberseiten haben, bieten die klarere geometrische Form, das kürzere Profil und der klare, kastenförmige Sockel, der das Licht von oben reflektiert, eine respektvolle moderne Variante eines vielkopierten Klassikers.
