The Verpan Fun 8DM Shell Chandelier light was designed by Verner Panton in 1964 as part of his FUN collection which is considered one of Panton's greatest masterpieces. The exquisite design was inspired by a trip to Malaysia where Panton discovered the beauty and dynamic nature of the seashell material. The way in which the seashell discs are delicately strung on small metallic chains allows the strands of discs to sway in the air. This movement is an iconic feature of these suspended ceiling lights which create a chiming sound as air travels through the shade.
The seashell material is naturally ideal for diffusing whilst also allowing a generous outpouring of light into the room. This combination of functionality and exquisite beauty is what makes this light such a stunning feature in a room.
